Timberline PDX

Timberline Lodge’s retail outpost at the Portland International Airport embodies the history, architecture and legacy of artisan craftsmanship found in the original Timberline Lodge on the slopes of Mt. Hood, bringing this unique experience closer to the city of Portland and more importantly to a national and international audience of visitors moving through the global travel hub. The space is bookended by images of the majestic forest on one side and the open slopes of the Mt. Hood on the other, transporting customer to the exterior landscapes surrounding Timberline. At the center of it all is a hearth connected to a timber frame entry arch intentionally mirroring the sloping arches found in the original New Deal-era construction. Throughout the space the stories of artists, athletes, explorers and adventurers who are part of the Timberline Lodge community are told through objects, images, and words. The Timberline heritage connects the environment, enabling travellers just passing through PDX to experience a regional landmark firsthand.
